Horror is coming

The original Resident Evil 2 was more of an arcade shooter type game, than a nitty gritty horror title. Yes, as kids, we would feel spooked at the scary monsters and zombies but… The creators behind the remake promise to deliver and extremely scary and horrifying experience. You will feel the chills from this game at an older age, just like you felt chills playing Resident Evil 2 all those years ago!

Resident Evil has a new formula

Have you played Resident Evil 7: Biohazard? The Resident Evil 7 game was critically acclaimed by critics around the world to be an extremely immersive and scary experience. A true horror shooting game. It seems as if the remake will also be following a similar tried and tested formula as Resident Evil 7. The remake will have a similar inventory system and other game mechanics to Resident Evil 7. If you enjoyed 2017’s Resident Evil 7, then you will LOVE the remake too!

Time to explore!

Unlike the linear experience of the old Resident Evil 2 game. The remake will have a more hands off approach. You will be left to explore buildings and areas, trying to scavenge resources as well and determine where your objective is. Finding pieces of the map and running into some monsters in a dark abandoned building… These will be just some of the things you will have to deal with in the remake. Exploration and open world type games when combined with horror, are extremely scary. Due to the fact that you never know when the next evil monster or jump scare is coming!

It’s going to get dark, VERY dark

According to the gameplay demos and other sources of early access footage, the new Resident Evil 2 remake will feature some very dark gameplay. Due to the monsters and zombies roaming the city, very few sources of light exist during the night, you are instead given a flashlight that you will use to help light up your path. But even with the flashlight, visibility will still be poor. It seems as if the game-developers have learned some tips and tricks from other horror games. Low visibility will help spook gamers. And you can be sure that trying to concentrate on trying to see where you are going, will make that incoming scare twice as frightening!
